Little known tidbit about Friday: I paid $600 for my very first computer in 1996. It was built to spec for one reason ... so I could play Diablo. I became addicted to the music of Tristram Village. To me, it's musical valium.

Joie de vivre ... ... French for joy of living. It's been pointed out to me that there is plenty of dreadful news on my blog and that I don't often post about the good things in my life ... of which, there are many, I assure you. I was challenged to write one good thing with every post. It's a very well intended, positive suggestion. Many times during the day something will happen to make me smile or laugh or warm my heart. I rarely write about those things and perhaps it seems as if I'm perpetually whining. I can see how it might seem that way. What's true of me, that my real-life friends know is that one of my favorite quotes is "In everything a blessing". We may not recognize the blessing right away but there is a blessing in every event in our life. It was one of the core beliefs my mother taught me ... she taught me to find something positive in everything, no matter how negative it seemed. My problem is that I'm most prolific and expressive when I'm blue, despondent, distressed, disturbed, etc. I'm going to try my best to remedy that and will begin to post "joie de vivre" entries or include a little "joie de vivre" in every post. Today's joie de vivre -- Meecie and I share a man. His name is Sam. He's slight in stature but big, big big in personality. He was Meecie's boyfriend first but he's so damned fascinating I just couldn't stay away from him. His name is Sam. We met him at Starbucks. Sam is married and has eight children. Sam is Palestinian. Sam is 68. We adore him! We see him nearly every single time we go to Starbucks and always end up sitting with him. Meecie and I sit with him for hours on end listening to his sage advice and wonderful stories. We saw Sam this morning. He sat between us, his eyes sparkling, his smile wide. We stayed longer than we should have but he's such a treasure and a pleasure -- he's hard to leave. We're an odd trio ... a small, old man with two women more than ten years his junior hanging on his every word. Sam loves it! What he doesn't realize is that we love it too. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR TAG. I try to acknowledge everyone, but sometimes the challenge that MS presents doesn't afford me the energy. If you find that I've overlooked your tag, please blame my fatigued and addled brain and not my <3.
