That's no girl, that's my sister ... I just got off the phone with my oldest brother. His wife is totally disabled by MS. He's her caretaker plus has a full time job. He apologized that he's not able to be here for my surgery. My sister is having problem with chronic anemia. She can't be here either and feels terrible about it. So who do they want to ask to come? My jackass brother. I said ... "Okay." Hey, I'm a big girl. It wouldn't hurt to have a member of the family here. Besides, I'll be in bed, my head wrapped like a mummy and loaded out of my mind on morphine. He can't pick a fight with me then, right? Hell, just the morphine alone will keep me quiet ... maybe even happy. I don't really need anyone here but my siblings feel one of them should be here . It's what will make them feel better. Who am I to deny them that? It's not all about me ... I'm a part of a family. It's about all of us pulling together for each other as we always have. I thought that when we lost mama, we would scatter and not be as close ever again. This will be the second time I've said this in a week ... I was wrong. We're even closer now. My heart is so full right now. *Friday smiles* **The title of this post is a direct quote from my jackass brother. It's what he said whenever one of his high school buddies would ask who I was. Perhaps it's important to note that although he and I have had our share of problems ... even though I think he's a jackass and I say so, I also still claim him as my brother. <3 Posted at 10:49 am by Friday's Child
