Little known tidbit about Friday: I paid $600 for my very first computer in 1996. It was built to spec for one reason ... so I could play Diablo. I became addicted to the music of Tristram Village. To me, it's musical valium.

.:: Tuesday, July 22, 2008 ::. Joie de vivre du jour [105 lbs] I'm one tenth of a pound shy of being 105 lbs ... my (meaning in my opinion) ideal target weight. A year ago in June I started this let's-get-healthy-and-fine quest. In a little over a year, I've lost 20 lbs ... the old fashion way ... exercise and JUST SAY NO! I'm not as driven as I was a year ago which maybe that's a good thing. Now it's just a matter of maintenance which might be harder since it will be easier to say "yes" once in a while. However, saying yes can lead to another yes and another yes and before I know it, I'll be packing on the pounds again. Vigilance is the word of the day -- the older you get, the harder it is to lose the weight. Wait ... did I forget to mention that I'm healthier? It's not just about vanity but I'll be honest .. when I changed my eating habits and exercise regimen, my motivation was unadulterated vanity. Getting healthier was gravy ... low cal, nonfat gravy. Friday's EyeWitness Report The eye is doing much better. The swelling / puffiness under my eye is almost all gone. The pain has gone from "SHRIEEEK" to mildly sore or tender. I'm on antibiotics for three more days. I'm so relieved. I was thinking about when we were kids and mom would tell us, "If you keep doing that, you're face is going to stay that way!" I actually had a little fear that my eye would forever be misshapen. I knew it was irrational but nothing chased that fear away until the swelling started going down. I remember plenty of those little one-line warnings Mama fired at us ... like if we drink too much orange juice, we would get Vitamin C poisoning. Later we found out she just wanted to have a glass of orange juice in the morning and telling us that was the only way she could keep us from drinking it all. I'll tell you what, whenever I drink orange juice, the words Vitamin C poisoning always cross my mind. I bet she didn't know when she said that sort of thing that I would remember them decades later. Yup ... Mama learned me good. And in the end, the love you take

Endearments THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR TAG. I try to acknowledge everyone, but sometimes the challenge that MS presents doesn't afford me the energy. If you find that I've overlooked your tag, please blame my fatigued and addled brain and not my <3.
