Little known tidbit about Friday: I paid $600 for my very first computer in 1996. It was built to spec for one reason ... so I could play Diablo. I became addicted to the music of Tristram Village. To me, it's musical valium.

.:: Monday, August 04, 2008 ::. Sometimes I forget I have Multiple Sclerosis ... I haven't had an MS exacerbation is quite a while. I do have symptoms that never cleared up after my last exacerbation but I have come to regard them as part of my daily life. I deal with it, go about my day and don't really think about it. Occasionally, late at night, when all is quiet and nothing is distracting me, I notice the pain in my legs more but I don't think, "Gee, my neuropathic pain is really kicking up tonight." I just grimace and rest. Recently, I felt my cellphone vibrate on my hip. I reached for my cellphone and ... I wasn't wearing my cellphone. The past few weeks, the pain in my legs, the vibrating sensations (tingling) and the muscle spasms have escalated. I'm attributing that to the stress of discovering a lump behind my ear, struggling to get it diagnosed (DX = parotid tumor) and now, the impending surgery. There are other stressors but the tumor related ones are the primary stressors right now. I'm very fortunate that my MS isn't more advanced and life isn't a constant struggle because of it. Still, it's pretty strange to be reminded that I have MS when my body starts to vibrate / tingle in places I absolutely shouldn't be having that sort of sensation. Imagine the strange looks I draw when I suddenly jump because the vibrating startles me and I say, "I'm okay. My butt's vibrating, that's all." ****** joie de vivre ... There's something about a pork roast slow cooking in the oven all day that reminds me of my mother and makes me feel comforted.
